Artist's Statement
After 5 years of learning Chinese painting (ink and water colour on thin Xuan paper), under the influence of western art, I began to change. My fascination with the particular nature of Xuan paper used in traditional painting led me to explore totally new ways of using it to paint contemporary themes. By emphasising its unique characteristics I try to establish my own style. My working method is to experiment, testing and improving new techniques, while thinking what types of pictures could be enhanced by them.
