Hello and thank you for visiting my profile.
I was born in the Country Victorian town of Shepparton in 1970 and was raised on a dry farm at Katandra, about 20 miles away. I am the youngest of three children with 2 older sisters.
Throughout my childhood I loved to draw and paint. My favourite activity as a youngster was painting native Australian birds mostly from our farm. I was greatly inspired by the iconic English ornithological artist John Gould and the brilliant Australian wildlife painter Peter Trusler, whose book "Birds of Australian Gardens" which I purchased soon after it's release is still one of my favourite possessions.
Encouraged by my primary and secondary school teachers to pursue my artistic abilities, I left school to begin a career as a Sign Artist specialising in traditional hand crafted lettering and murals.
Technology has since taken over much of the traditional craft though I still dabble where I have the chance.
My love for geometric design and perspective is what inspires me to paint. I enjoy seeing the world in simple shapes and colours, and try to capture scenery and moments by using such elemental basics.
In 2010 my wife and I moved to Los Angeles California where I continue to work self employed in the graphics industry whilst pursuing my own artistic endeavours.
Many thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope you enjoy my paintings.
Cheers :-)
