I have been a Hobby Artist for about 10 years. I have always loved drawing, so I decided to join an art class. After learning different mediums. I soon found Pastels to be my favourite. Over the years I have entered many local artshows, sometimes I had luck with selling a painting. What a thrill seeing that red dot and realising someone like my work enough to hang it on their wall.
I entered paintings into Camberwell a number of times but unfortunately my paintings were not hung. Dissapointed but not detered I kept entering, then after winning "Best Emerging Artist" in the Kilmore Art Expo in March 2009 I entered the painting that won the prize, and to my surprise the painting was hung and also sold.
My belief in myself grew, I have now taken up portraiture in pencil and I have found a new love in painting, who knows what the future will bring.
