The Beauty and serenity of creation is what draws me to paint. I love to express the feel of the moment whether that is the warmth of the light, the velvet feel of a petal or the fold of a cloth. I love the beach, the movement of the waves and the play of light on the sand. Having lived on the Sunshine Coast for a long time, the local coast and hinterland are common themes in my artwork.
Pastels are my favourite medium and I am a Master Pastellist with the Pastel Society of Australia Inc. The way the pastel becomes your brush and the paper your palette is a beautiful way to paint. The subtle colour effects you can gain by glazing one colour over another gives a great depth to the arwork that is unique to pastel. Acrylics are also fun to paint with having the texture add to the movement of the artwork is very rewarding.
Landscapes and Seascapes are my usual subjects but figures, florals and still life are also high on my lost of things I love to paint.
My artwork can be seen at the Seaview Gallery Moffat Beach Qld. 7 days a week. Being on duty at the gallery twice a month, feel free to drop in and have a chat! Examples of my work are also found on my website www.triciataylorart.com
